The Benefits of Being a Member

The advantages of membership rest with the strength of an Association which represents the interests of residents, the staff and owners.  Our strength enables us to continue to be directly involved in the planning and implementation of services by our colleagues in social services and the PCT, locally, regionally and nationally: so negotiating with one powerful voice. We are listened to and our opinions are sought, valued and acted on.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MEMBERSHIP TO NCA IS NOW DUE FOR RENEWAL AND WE ARE CURRENTLY SENDING OUT RENEWAL NOTICES.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP!

A polite reminder that subscriptions are due on 1st April for the coming year. The subscription is £5.00 per registered bed. The increase reflects the vastly increased legal and administration support costs we are now incurring.  However the benefits that the Association has achieved for homes over the past few years with the introduction of the fair price for care have been very significant. Increases of over 40% are now possible. We have also introduced many other new member benefits that we hope will repay the fees many times over.

With the increase economic pressure we are also building a fighting fund in case we need to take major legal action against councils or PCTS, details are in the subscription renewal letter all homes should have received. Most owners will have heard about the Judicial Review in Pembrokshire late last year which resulted in one home owner receiving £1.5million in back-fees and costs.

With the current economic climate it is going to become even more difficult for us to maintain economic fee levels for homes without the necessary financial resources and also very high levels of membership to reflect the support for our campaigns

We also offer our members business support services from the likes of RBS, Brunswicks and Energy Advisors, again these services are normally discounted and in some cases free. Details are on the member’s pages of the web site.
